Bassingbourn Rifle and Pistol Club (BRPC) is based at Bassingbourn
Barracks near Royston in Cambridgeshire. The Club uses ranges at Bassingbourn
Barracks, Barton Road near Cambridge and Bisley in Surrey.
BRPC is a Home Office Approved Club and is affiliated
to the National Rifle Assocation (NRA) based at Bisley.
The aim of the Club is to "promote shooting as a safe and enjoyable
sport".
We shoot at least once a month either on a Saturday or Sunday. The ranges allow club members to shoot all disciplines from 25m Black Powder Pistol (at The Isle Target Sports Club) to 600m plus Full Bore rifle.
The Club is affiliated to The Isle Target Sports Club who have
their own range at Mepal. Currently this Club has a covered 25m range
with 8 lanes for Black Powder, .22 Rimfire, and full-bore (maximum
muzzle velocity is 3250 ft/sec). They also shoot shotgun and air
rifle on an open range on the same site.
Members
of
BRPC are
welcome to visit The Isle Target Sports Club and pay the nominal sum
of £2.00 per visit. Members of The Isle Target Sports Club are
also welcome to shoot at BRPC meetings at Barton Road and pay a green
fee of £5
